Due to our damp and humid climate here in the UK, many older homes suffer from poor air quality which causes them to develop condensation and black spot mould issues. If these conditions are left untreated, they can cause respiratory infections, allergies, asthma and immune system issues

It is usually the winter months where these issues are more prevalent, when the temperature drops and we are more likely to keep our windows closed to retain what heat there is in the house. In an older property with solid walls, the lack of insulation can be a leading cause of mould growth because external walls are generally cold and attract the water vapour that is in the air, which turns to condensation when it comes into contact with the colder surfaces.
